Carmen and I found two areas involving family issues. One is what we call family communication emergencies. We examine those issues in another Section. The other we discuss here and call Family Emergencies.
Family challenges, or non-family communication issues, generally involve family members deeply involved in each other’s housing or financial issues. When family members get involves with each other’s finances and housing they face a unique set of challenges. Sharing living spaces and money has an immediate impact on all parties involved. Emergencies develop when the parties lack an understanding or choose to ignore other’s needs and anxieties. Best practices involve knowledge of what’s likely to happen in the future and planning to accommadate these changes.
